Join WAITIKI for an amazing night of signature Exotica, featuring the music from their debut album, Charred Mammal Flesh: Exotic Music for BBQ, backed up by the return of Esquivel and the 19-piece WAITIKI “Orchestrotica.” And get your thumbs ready for a very WAITIKI-take on Nintendo Game Music! Where else on a Friday night are the classic Exotica sounds of Martin Denny and Juan Garcia Esquivel linked with Mario, Zelda, Yummy Hut Yeehaw, and Fuzzy Mammoth Breath?

WAITIKI 1-up’s the rest with 4 sets of the most lolo da kine dis side of Mauna Loa:

Set 1 — WAITIKI’s very own 19-piece “Orchestrotica” performs a repeat of their sell-out Esquivel concert from March 2005. When WAITIKI learned that the original manuscripts for these works had been destroyed and never performed live, even by Esquivel, they decided to transcribe a selection of their favorites (by ear!). WAITIKI’s efforts garnered much acclaim and press. In Spring 2006, WAITIKI switches from “Aloha” to “Hola” where they will form and lead a bi-nation “Orchestrotica” in Mexico City as part of the Festival de Mexico.

Set 2 & 3 — After the pows and zu-zu’s, grab a signature WAITIKI drink from the bar and get ready to “Eat, Shoots and Leaves” with WAITIKI. This set includes many selections from Charred Mammal Flesh: Exotic Music for BBQ (produced by Shaun Wolf Wortis and special advisor Brother Cleve). They’ll also perform classic Exotica and tiki hits, plus a selection of popular Nintendo Game music — all backed up by the beautiful WAITIKI Wahine getting exotic with hula, Tahitian, and contemporary dance.

Set 4 — You’ve gotten past the Goombas and Koopa Troopas and are ready to rescue Princess Toadstool! Or you can put down your controller and pick up your booty with Brother Cleve as he spins Lounge Beat: a contemporary mix of classic lounge, latin and bossa, aimed at the dance floor — including tracks from the forthcoming Esquivel remix album.
