Sam Gambino (left) is an illustrator, painter, and graphic designer whose specialty tiki work is recognized throughout the world. Past commissions have included signs for Gecko’z South Sea Arts (Ewa Beach, HI), Cheeky Tiki’s London Luau (London, UK), Sam’s Seafood Restaurant (Huntington Beach, CA), and mugs for Tiki Farm. He has also created panels for King Feature Syndicate’s New Breed comic strip.

Work with WAITIKI

Sam first began work with WAITIKI in Spring 2007, with commissions to do illustration and artwork for the group’s album, Rendezvous in Okonkuluku. The album has since won a Hawaii Music Award for Exotica Album of the Year. Other work by Sam for WAITIKI includes:

• The illustration and design for the WAITIKI Drink Menu
• Design of web advertising banners
• Re-design of the WAITIKI logo and branding elements
• Creation of the WAITIKI kapa-style “OKONKULUKU” print border, seen at the top and bottom of this website, and in the inner liner notes of the CD release of Rendezvous in Okonkuluku
