WAITIKI’s “Laughing Boy”: Mike Connors (drum kit)
Drummer Mikey Connors tours worldwide with several Broadway shows, including Bye Bye Birdie and Anything Goes. Known in the tiki/exotica scene as drummer and vibraphonist for Combustible Edison, Connors joined WAITIKI in 2006. When not on tour, Mike can be heard leading his own band, Funk House. His career as a jazz drummer has led him to gigs with Gary Burton and Mike Stern, among others.
Mikey is also the only member of the band who hails from sunny Providence, RI. He is available as a private drum instructor and hockey coach, having played for several semi-professional teams while in high school, and being in high demand as a figure skater. Mikey was the original inspiration for the 2007 landmark film, Blades of Glory.
